Hey guys,
Thought I would send out a few pic’s of my new project. I’m changing the 14′ from a four seater to a two seater, Gentleman’s Runabout. I started out by removing the outer keel and adding two lift strakes as Joe McCauley had suggested. Then I resurfaced the bottom with graphite filled epoxy in order to get it as flat as possible. The Graphite makes a very slick surface. The paint is two stage automotive urethane. It took six steps of sanding to get the clear coat ready to compound and polish. I started with 400 grit and ended up at 2000 grit. A better painter would not have had to go through all these steps. My arm got tired, hope I don’t end up with another shoulder problem! The color is indigo blue.
I hope to finish polishing it out in the next day or two and get it turned back over. Will send more pictures as it progresses.
Best, from all of us at Lindy Boats, we are a small group of two, Me and my dog Max.
