John Slator Reports:
Members began arriving on Wednesday afternoon. A few were camping and had been there all week. Water was smooth, temperature was pleasant. A group went to a nice local Mexican restaurant on Thursday night and ate on the patio. The meal was good as was the camaraderie; a few beers and top shelf Margaritas were enjoyed. Would go back in a heartbeat. Friday we were treated to a wine and cheese party hosted by Dennis and Sharon Schmitt. Saturday we had our club dinner cooked by Chef George on the grill with hamburgers, hot dogs and brats plus beans and potato salad. Steve and Heidi again allowed us to invade their space (the biggest cabin), a hearty thank you! A good time was had by all. Most being of a mature age managed to stay with it until 9 PM. Snake-bit Mark Lindhorst had a time with a frozen steering cable that was finally resolved in time for a boat parade of sorts that lasted an hour or so before the Saturday night meal. A special mention and thank you to the women who made it all possible. An Arkansas member passed around a legal pad seeking people interested in starting an Arkansas Chapter.
