Member Darrell Beaulier is diligently restoring a 1960 Powercat tunnel-hull powered by (2) that’s TWO count ’em TWO! 1960 Merc 700s. Darrell bought the rig from from John “Meatball” Murray last month at Kingsland, Lake LBJ. He also picked up a free dual rideguide there. Mentor Joe McCauley advises that, “The props on the motors are low pitch but I’ve located (2) 19″ pitch props.” Joe also reports that, “Only the transom needed replacing. Last week Darrell tore out the old transom and the new transom is installed. He plans to run the boat in April at Kingsland.”
